How about you? Unexpectedly unattached? Adore your S.O. but want to confidently try new thing on your own? Let's live our MOST AMAZING lives with or without a +1.
C'mon, I'll go first!
Pearl's is a fabulous pizza spot downtown Lexington. You'll know it by its black and white stripped awning. I ordered the Summer Hat seasonal pizza and it is phenomenal! Herbed corn cream, tomatoes, feta, parmesan, and basil offer a beautiful melody of flavors atop a delicious crust.
What to know when you go:
✔️The atmosphere is totally different inside vs. out. For a solo night, I loved people watching on the street-side patio.
✔️Order at the bar inside, pay, and pick up a number sign for your table. Sit back and relax and they’ll deliver to you.
✔️Street parking is legal, free, and plentiful on Pleasant Stone St. after 5pm and only a 3-minute walk to Pearl’s.
✔️The Hellbabe with hot honey and Pearl’s homemade ranch dressing are two crowd favs that I can’t wait to try next visit.
Look at the size of this BIG BREAKFAST BISCUIT! My first visit to East End Tap and Table did not disappoint with big brunch flavors & breezy outdoor dining! Definitely She's So Single recommended for solo, +1, or girls group brunching.
What to know when you go:
✔️ Lots of parking all around. You can select from street-side spots or the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.
✔️ For patio dining (my preference for solo summer brunching), check in at the hostess stand inside and then pick your spot. I selected a three-seater in the corner under a shady tree. If you're dining-in solo, there are several 2-seater options or bar seating available.
✔️ If you’re a planner like me, go to www.eastendtapandtable.com to make a dinner reservation.
Have you all checked out Dv8 Kitchen - East End location yet? Gosh, I love this restaurant as much for their flavors & style as I do their vision & mission.
She’s So Single recommended for your debut dining solo experience or a super casual breakfast or lunch +1 meet-up.
What to Know When You Go!
✔️Parking is easy breezy! Slide into street-side parking or in The Met lot off Third St.
✔️Order at the counter, take a number, and select a spot indoor or out on the covered patio.
✔️Going solo & ready to be brave? Snag a spot at one of the community high-tops and strike up a convo with a new friend.
Fiddletree Kitchen & Bar offers a delightful twist on comfort food in Lexington, KY. The restaurant and lounge are visually stunning with unique spaces throughout, and the food is beautifully presented and equally delicious.

✔️Solo Dining- I brunched with a BFF, but I spied several cozy places for solo sipping with a good book & small bites.
✔️+1 Meet-up on a Friday or Saturday for dinner and live 🎶. I'm excited to return for evening eats and to listen to some tunes!
✔️Weekend brunch with gal pals or a fabulous spot for a bridal luncheon, baby shower,
Doodles is one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots to visit solo or with my girlfriends. My go-to meals is biscuit & gravy with a side of beignets. It's a perfectly sweet and savory start to the day!
What to know when you go:
✔️ Order the beignets! They are the main attraction in the Pigs & Puffs, but you can also order as a side dish for the table or to-go for a mid-day treat!
✔️Arrive early on the weekends (I rolled in around 9am today) to avoid the lines and to snag a spot on the patio.
✔️There are 2-seater options inside & out, ideal for a morning meet-up with a potential +1 or solo brunching.
The hottest rooftop in town! A nod to sultry South Florida, the Lost Palm at The Manchester in the Distillery District, offers an extensive cocktail menu + small bites in an ultra-cool indoor/outdoor parlor.
She's So Single recommended for:
✔️ Solo sipping & mingling at the tiki bar.
✔️Rooftop romance with a +1.
✔️Girls' night out in a chic cabana.
✔️Group get-together with cocktails & cornhole on the terrace.
The sunrise and fog over the Bluegrass were absolutely stunning this morning from the H.I. Flight hot air balloon, an experience I’ve had on my bucket (or basket 😂) list for years. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m a bit terrified of heights. I was pleasantly surprised how peaceful and smooth the ride was this morning. I would 100% ride again!

Channel your inner Lightning⚡️McQueen and check “drive a race car” off your bucket list at KY Speedway. It's an exciting, nerve-racking, heart-pounding, and slightly terrifying, must-do solo experience! After researching several options this summer, I selected Rusty Wallace Racing Experience. I was pleased with the booking process, communication, professionalism of their staff, and overall commitment to driver safety.

Whether you visit a distillery tucked away in the beautiful Bluegrass countryside, or select a modern distillery with a full service bar and a chef-inspired restaurant, you're guaranteed to enjoy a day on the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky!

I love strolling through the farmer's market on Saturday mornings, with a cup of coffee in hand, admiring the beautiful fruits, vegetables, and flowers on display. This solo supper features Lexington Pasta Garage single serving garlic & herb pasta, roasted eggplant, tomatoes, local basil, and tangy feta cheese.
Delicious, flavorful marinated chicken is the star ingredient in these two simple solo suppers. The flatbread sandwich with tzatziki sauce and sautéed veggies reminds me of my favorite take-out dish at a local spot in town.
What's your go-to dish when you're nearing the end of your grocery cycle? For me, it's breakfast for dinner and this yummy tomato-basil-goat cheese frittata does not disappoint! Packed with flavor, super versatile, and easy clean up in a perfectly solo-sized cast-iron skillet.
Thanks for connecting with me! All my friends should know upfront - I believe in coffee before all things, 90's music is my jam, I'm always in the mood for tacos, and as a born and raised KY girl, I bleed UK blue. I have an AMAZING teenage daughter who is fiercely independent and crazy cool. My girlfriends say I'm a little high maintenance and a whole lot of fun. My day hustle is in education and I was a public school principal for nearly a decade. Y'all, I've seen it ALL!
Now, after 24 years with a +1 by my side, I'm learning to live my most amazing life on my own and helping other women who are unexpectedly unattached, do the same.
I'd love for you to join me on my journey! ~Michelle
